How to reclaim your personal power and live life authentically.

“Would you rather live your life according to the approval of others or aligned with your truth and your dreams” ~ Robin S. Sharma

In our current society, our collective consciousness, those unspoken social contracts itโ€™s becoming commonplace for so many people to live their lives according to the approval of others.

Living our lives for the approval of others is living in fear of what other people will think or say about us. It would be unfortunate if we dare to go against what our friends and family expect of us, especially in todayโ€™s society where one little stray thought from what people expect of us can cause us to get canceled.

So, one of the most important questions to ask yourself is: Would you rather live your life according to the approval of others or aligned with your truth and your dreams?

What exactly is personal truth?

Personal truth has several different layers, but essentially it comes down to this:

Personal truth, also known as personal power is our beliefs, our values, and honoring our thoughts and emotions. Itโ€™s about regaining our personal power and not worrying about what other people think or say.

Personal truth is about being in tune with ourselves, knowing ourselves better than we know anyone else. It amazes me how many people know more about their neighbors than they do about themselves.

How many times have you had a dream, whether it’s to get a better job, go into business for yourself, find the love of your life, moving to a new city or state, deciding what to read or watch on TV, whether or not to get the Covid vaccine and all of a sudden you catch yourself thinking,

โ€œWhat will my friends and family think or say if they catch me doing or planning any of these thingsโ€? And the next thing you know you donโ€™t take action to move towards what you want in life because of the fear of ridicule or rejection.

This happens all the time, but Iโ€™m telling you, you donโ€™t have to live in fear because every single day people are waking up and realizing that their personal power, their truth, and their dreams are more important than allowing other people to have power over them.

Making the switch from living according to the approval of other to living in your truth and pursuing your dreams doesnโ€™t happen overnight, but the more you focus on yourself and engaging in personal self-growth the easier and quicker the tides will turn in your direction.

โ€œTo โ€˜be true to oneselfโ€™ is to consciously refer to oneโ€™s stable values, motives, and beliefs as one makes decisions, which can be difficult when momentary social influences are insensitive or contradictory to these values and beliefsโ€. ~ Kennon M. Sheldon

Think of it this way,

Just because everyone is investing in cryptocurrency doesnโ€™t mean you have to.

Just because everyone else is spending more money on entertainment doesnโ€™t mean you have to or should.

Just because everyone else is getting a vaccine doesnโ€™t mean you have to.

Just because _________________________

Iโ€™m sure you get the point.

You only have one life, why not live it on your terms. After all, the last thing you want is to reach the age of 70 or 80 and look back and say, โ€œWow, I wish I would have done the things I wanted to do instead of living my life for the approval of othersโ€.

When you live your life aligned with your truth and pursue your goals and dreams the right people will accept you for who you are.

In a nutshell, you do your thing and everything will work out to your benefit.
